Last November was the first annual of The New Renaissance and The Avant Garde is back with Pt. 2! There is a special renaissance of music and the arts in the Twin Cities on the music and spoken word scene and we are honored to highlight it in a distinct form and fashion. Headlining the event will be the quickly emerging soul, funk, and spoken word ensemble, Joe Davis and The Poetic Diaspora (It’s Joe’s birthday that night as well)! 

The New Renaissance is so special because it is showing our appreciation to those who have paved the way for us, from the Harlem Renaissance, the Bebop Era, and beyond. It also focuses on how us artists of today are creating a new avenue of virtue for the next generations of artists that come after us. It’s going to be an incredible evening of deep-rooted soul, live bands, and passionate spoken word poetry. The line-up of performers is absolutely incredible. Hope to see you there!
